GM Applies to Trademark "Buick Envision GX"

June 30, 2022

--

As reported by Autoblog, a GM application filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to register the mark, "Buick Envision GX", may suggest that a new, three-row Buick Envision will soon debut.

Last year, Buick rolled out a three-row Envision in China, under the name Envision Plus. The switch to the name Envision GX would be in line with Buick’s naming conventions in the U.S., where the term “GX” is typically used to denote a larger model vehicle.

If the specifications of the Envision Plus rolled out in China last year are maintained, the three-row Envision GX would be 190.7 inches long on a 111.5-inch wheelbase, increases of 8.2 and 2.1 inches, respectively. With seating for 7 in a 2+3+2 formation, the length would make travel more comfortable for second and third row passengers. The second-row bench would be able to slide 9.8 inches, and cargo volume with the second and third rows stowed would increase from 52.7 cubic feet to 58 cubic feet.
