As recently reported, the state of Florida has filed a trademark application for Billy Napier’s popular catch phrase “scared money don’t make money”.
The phrase became popular during the 2020-2021 NCAA football season when Napier, the head coach of the University of Florida’s football team, explained why the team went for a touchdown instead of a field goal.
The trademark application was filed by the state of Florida on April 14, 2022. The application covers clothing and apparel, and entertainment services, including arranging and conducting athletic events, tournaments and exhibitions.
